Matt Gediman

Matt Gediman is Sunstone Trust Company’s Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Institutional Partnerships where he oversees firm-wide strategy and manages the company’s institutional relationships.

Matt has spent his career working with small to mid-sized business owners and HNW CRE investors in senior leadership positions in wealth management and business banking. His professional expertise spans business and commercial banking, CRE lending, private banking, traditional and alternative investments, and fiduciary and trust services.

Matt’s role at Sunstone Trust allows him to utilize his more than two decades of experience to identify critical strategies and strategic partners to rapidly grow and scale Sunstone Trust’s various businesses. Over the course of his leadership career, he has developed and successfully executed several strategic growth initiatives across a range of economic environments in highly competitive markets.

Matt holds a master’s degree in business administration from University of Southern California with a concentration in finance and accounting, and a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley. He is also a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School, a graduate-level management program for bank executives. Additionally, Matt is active in his community and has served on numerous boards focused on improving the lives of people in his community. He currently serves on the boards of directors for the Salvation Army and San Diego Maritime Museum.
